sesame seared tuna with wasabi mayo and nori

[.feature]2[.feature] tbsp sesame seed – black, white or mixed

[.feature]6[.feature] oz sushi grade tuna, such as ahi

[.feature]2[.feature] tbsp grapeseed oil

[.feature]4[.feature] nori seaweed sheets

[.feature]1[.feature] cup shredded napa cabbage

[.feature]1[.feature] cup shredded carrot

[.feature]½[.feature] avocado, sliced in thin slices

sea salt and pepper

Wasabi Mayo

[.feature]4[.feature] tbsp mayonnaise

[.feature]2[.feature] tsp prepared wasabi

[.feature]2[.feature] tsp rice wine vinegar

Steps

STEP 1

Sprinkle sesame seeds on a plate.

STEP 2

Season the tuna filet with salt and pepper and press it into the sesame seeds to coat.

STEP 3

Heat oil in an iron skillet over medium high heat.

STEP 4

When oil is hot, add tuna. Sear tuna 2-3 minutes on each side for medium.

STEP 5

To make the wasabi mayo, whisk together mayonnaise, wasabi and vinegar until thoroughly combined.  Can be made ahead and refrigerated.

STEP 6

To assemble wrap, trim nori to fit an egglife wrap.  Line the wrap with a nori seaweed sheet and start layering cabbage, carrots, tuna, wasabi, mayo and avocado on top of it. Roll up and enjoy!
